Artist's Statement

Having spent my childhood running barefoot in the dirt between rows of corn, I have always identified with the earth, and the clay it produces. I often feel I have clay in my blood, instead of red and white cells.

Working with clay, I claim who I am, an observer of the world around me. I focus my artistic attention on objects of daily use, people who are important to me, and the world of nature that surrounds me.
